Questions

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring to shop in store?
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID that shows you are 21 or older, such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport. New York adult-use law requires us to check age at the door and again at checkout, so please have your ID ready on every visit.
Is cannabis legal in New York?
Yes. Adult-use cannabis is legal in New York for adults 21 and older, within the state's regulated purchase and possession limits. Buying from a licensed retailer like Flower Hill means every product is tracked, tested, and sold in compliance with state law.
How do I know Flower Hill is a licensed, legitimate dispensary?
Flower Hill holds a New York State adult-use retail license (OCM-RETL-26-000504) issued by the Office of Cannabis Management. You can confirm any shop's status on the OCM's official licensed-dispensary list. If a store cannot show a license, it is not a legal dispensary.
Why is legal, licensed cannabis safer than the illicit market?
Everything on our shelves is grown by licensed New York operators and tested by an independent lab for potency and for contaminants like pesticides, heavy metals, mold, and residual solvents. Illicit or gray-market products skip that testing, so you never really know what is inside. Legal means tested, labeled, and traceable.
What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
A COA is the lab report for a specific batch. It lists total THC and CBD, the full cannabinoid and terpene breakdown, and pass or fail results for contaminant testing. Look for the lab-results link on our product pages to see the COA for what you are buying.
Can I see products and pricing online before I come in?
Yes. Our live menu shows real-time inventory, potency, and pricing, and it updates as our shelves change. Browse anytime, reserve your favorites for in-store pickup, and finish up at the counter. If you need same-day confirmation on a specific item, give us a call.
How do I place an order?
Browse the menu, add items to your bag, and reserve them for in-store pickup. Your reservation holds the products, and you complete payment in store when you pick up. You are also always welcome to walk in and shop with our team.
How do I know if an item is in stock?
The online menu reflects live inventory, and out-of-stock items are hidden automatically, so what you see is what is available. Items running low show a low-stock note. For a same-day hold, reserve it online or call the store.
Can I see what I ordered before?
Yes. Create an account and sign in, and your order history is saved to your dashboard so you can reorder your favorites quickly.
Do you offer pickup or delivery?
You can reserve online for fast in-store pickup at 79-28 Metropolitan Ave in Middle Village. For current pickup details and any delivery availability, contact the store, since options can change as we grow.
Do you accept cards?
Payment options in cannabis retail change with banking and compliance rules. Please contact the store for the payment methods we currently accept before you visit.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts for Veterans, Nurses, Teachers, Senior Citizens, and First Responders. Ask our team in store, and join our Rewards program to earn on every visit.
Do you have a rewards program?
We do. Sign up through our Rewards page to start earning benefits on your purchases. You can join online or ask our staff to help you enroll in store.
What is the difference between adult-use and medical cannabis?
Adult-use (recreational) purchases do not require a patient card. Medical programs may offer different products, pricing, or purchase limits for certified patients. Our retail team can explain options at a high level, but medical decisions belong between you and your clinician.
What is the difference between sativa, indica, and hybrid?
These are general effect categories. Sativa-leaning strains are often described as more uplifting and energizing, indica-leaning as more relaxing and body-heavy, and hybrids fall somewhere in between. Everyone reacts differently, so terpenes and your own tolerance matter as much as the label. Our team can help you choose.
Does a higher THC percentage mean a better product?
Not necessarily. THC is only one factor. Terpenes, the full cannabinoid profile, freshness, and how a product is grown all shape the experience. A well-grown, terpene-rich flower at 20 percent can feel better than a higher-testing one that is flat. Shop for the effect and aroma you want, not just the number.
What is the difference between indoor, outdoor, and sungrown flower?
Indoor flower is grown in a climate-controlled room, which often yields dense, frosty buds and consistent results. Outdoor and sungrown flower use natural sunlight, which many people enjoy for its terpene expression and lower environmental footprint. Neither is automatically better; it comes down to the specific cultivar and grower.
What is a micro-grower?
A micro-grower is a small, state-licensed New York cultivator working at limited scale, often producing craft, small-batch flower. Supporting them keeps the local legal market diverse. Look for our micro-grower selections on the menu.
What is the difference between infused and non-infused products?
Non-infused flower and pre-rolls are just the plant. Infused products add concentrate, such as kief, hash, rosin, or distillate, to boost potency and effect. An infused pre-roll, for example, tends to be stronger than a standard joint.
Rosin, resin, distillate: what is the difference?
They are all concentrates made in different ways. Rosin is solventless, pressed from flower or hash with just heat and pressure. Live resin uses a hydrocarbon solvent to capture the fresh-plant terpene profile. Distillate is highly refined oil stripped down to mostly a single cannabinoid, prized for purity and consistency. Our team can point you to the right one.
What about THCa, Delta-8, and products sold online?
We only carry lab-tested products from licensed New York operators. Some items sold online under labels like THCa flower or Delta-8 rely on regulatory loopholes and skip the testing that legal dispensaries require. When in doubt, buy tested and traceable.
Can Flower Hill give medical advice?
No. Our team can share general product information and help you shop, but we cannot offer medical advice or dosing recommendations. If you have a health condition or take medication, please talk with your doctor or clinician first.
How should I store my products?
Keep flower in a cool, dark place in an airtight container to preserve freshness and terpenes. Store vape carts and batteries upright at room temperature, away from heat and direct sun. Keep everything in its original child-resistant packaging and out of reach of children and pets.
What is your return policy on a defective product?
If a product is defective, bring it back with your receipt and its original packaging and speak with our team. Cannabis regulations limit what can be returned or exchanged, so reach out as soon as you notice an issue and we will help however state rules allow.
Is your store pet friendly?
Service animals are always welcome. For other pets, please check with our team before bringing them in.
How do I apply for a job, or get my brand carried?
We would love to hear from you. For hiring, email info@flowerhilldispensary.com with your resume. New York licensed brands interested in being carried can reach out to the same address with product and licensing details.
I am having trouble ordering or signing in. What should I do?
